On May 12, 1997, in a small rural village in South Derry, Sean Brown, the esteemed chairman of Bellaghy Wolfe Tones GAA Club, was ambushed by members of the Loyalist Volunteer Force (LVF) as he locked up the gates to the training ground. He was abducted, beaten, and shot six times in the head.
No justice has ever been forthcoming for the Brown family. Agents of the British state are known to be involved - evidence continues to be withheld and covered up to this day.
Murder of a GAA Chairman will be presented by Belfast Producer Trevor Birney and Belfast Solicitor Niall Murphy with a question and answer session following moderated by Judge Michael C. Mentel.
